Why have I been redirected from
Haleon.com to a separate third party portal to submit my innovation?
To ensure your user experience runs smoothly and is managed in a consistent and timely manner, Haleon has engaged a third party, yet2, to help run its innovation portal.
The reasons for using a third party
portal
are threefold. First, Haleon wants to ensure that all submitter responses
are reviewed and dealt with in a consistent and timely manner. Second,
Haleon understands that solutions can be provided by a variety of people,
some that may require
support in describing the solution in a way
that enables more clarity on how it solves a need. yet2 has significant
experience working in this area and is able to
facilitate the process for ensuring best chance of success. Third, ensuring
only non-confidential information is
received is important for protecting your IP position as well as
Haleon's.
Haleon may be developing similar concepts, so
sharing only non-confidential information eliminates the risk of
jeopardizing Haleon ongoing research programs, projects
and developing concepts. yet2 can help act as a gatekeeper to prevent Haleon
from receiving confidential information.
This portal is the only route that ideas submitted to Haleon will be accepted. Haleon will not consider any submissions outside the portal.
Haleon does not accept ideas submitted to Haleon outside of the portal, and
any such non-portal submissions are
considered non-confidential in the absence of a Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA).
What happens now?
When you submit an idea through this
Idea Submission Portal, you will be asked to complete an “Open
Innovation
Submission Form” including your contact details, a non-confidential
overview
of your solution and your agreement to the
Terms and Conditions of submission and the Privacy Notice. On behalf of
Haleon, yet2 will review your details and
evaluate the solution within the portal to ensure it is sufficiently
complete and in line with Haleon's interests and
priorities.
What information does my
submission need to include?
Contact information is essential for us
to follow up on your idea. The submission form must also provide an overview
of
the proposed solution, with the understanding that your submission will not
be treated as confidential. You only need to
send us an outline of your proposal at this stage, describing how it works
in a general technical sense and what the
benefits would be. If you have a published or granted patent, that will
normally be a sufficient description, and you
can simply provide us with the details of the published patent/application.
If a patent has not yet been applied for or
is not yet published, certain details of the potential patent could waive
confidentiality so any submission and the
timing of it should be considered very carefully.
Who decides if my submission is
of interest to Haleon?
yet2 will review your “Submitter
Information Form” in relation to Haleon's current interests and
priorities to
decide if
your solution is a good fit. yet2 will follow up directly with you through
the portal to inform you of the status (i.e.
the idea is not relevant and will not be taken further, more details
required, of interest for further discussion, etc).

Can I submit confidential
information?
No, only non-confidential information
may be submitted. Throughout the submission process, we ask for only
information
that imposes no obligations of confidentiality for Haleon or yet2 and does
not breach any confidentiality obligations
that you as the submitter owe to others. If confidential information is
later required, Haleon may negotiate a separate
Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) prior to sharing or receipt of any
confidential information.
Do I have to be at least 18
years old to submit an innovation?
Yes, this is the legally-accepted age
for agreeing to terms and conditions for this activity.
How long will it take for my
submission to be reviewed? What are the stages?
On submitting your "Open Innovation
Submission Form", you will receive an email confirming your submission has
been
received, and you will be provided with a unique submission identification
number. Contact will then be made within
approximately five working days to inform you of the status of your
submission. Assuming no additional information is
required, and the idea meets Haleon needs, it will then be forwarded to
Haleon for their review. Haleon review may take
several weeks, at which point they may reach out to you to discuss your idea
in greater detail. If the idea is not of interest to Haleon you will be informed of this outcome.
Is there a reward for
submitting my innovation?
There will be no reward for your initial
submission of an idea through this portal. However, if Haleon decides to
pursue
a submission, they may proceed with a mutually-agreed contract and
appropriate commercial terms on a case-by-case basis.
Do I have to accept the
Submission Portal Terms & Conditions?
Yes, these are created to protect you
and your rights, and avoid impacting upon Haleon's ongoing research
programs,
projects and developing concepts.
If I have more than one
submission, will I have to agree to the Terms and Conditions for each submission?
Yes, you will have to go through
separate submissions and agree to the Terms and Conditions for each
submission.
Do I have to have Intellectual
Property protection? (Patents applied for or filed)
Ideally, your solution will be
protected by granted or published and applied-for patents. However, Haleon
are willing to
discuss early stage ideas before a patent filing has been made or before it
has been published. If you have not filed
for any patent protection or the patent application has not been published
yet, you should not disclose any information
that jeopardizes your rights, and we advise you contact an IP lawyer prior
to submission.
I cannot log into the My
Submissions page to view the status of my submission, upload additional
documentation or
respond to communication, what do I do?
Please ensure that you are only using
the 8 character alphanumeric reference number to login, do not include the #
preceding it. Please also ensure that you are entering O (capital “o”) and 0
(zero) correctly. If that fails, please
contact
Haleon@yet2.com.
